Machines

Give your agent a browser and a computer

Some work needs a real login, a fixed IP address or your own hardware. Laze gives agents a browser machine you sign in to once, and lets them use computers you already own.

Three kinds of machine

Agent turns always run in a Laze sandbox. A machine is somewhere the agent can reach out to for the parts the sandbox can't do.

Browser machine

Chrome with a stable IP

A small machine in Paris with Chrome and a fixed IP address, for sites that have no API or block logins from new places. You sign in once on its screen, and the agent drives it after you press Done.

  • The screen link goes to your DM, and only you can open it
  • Sleeps after 15 minutes idle and wakes when the agent needs it
  • About 4 USD a month asleep and 0.02 USD an hour awake, with a monthly budget

Your computer

A Mac mini or a server you own

Connect a computer with one command. It dials out to Laze, so you open no port and Laze holds no key to it. Your agents run commands on it with laze machine exec, at no compute cost.

  • The connect code works once and for one hour
  • Revoking the machine cuts it off at once
  • Sign in to sites in a browser on your own machine too

Over SSH

Servers that can't run the connector

Point Laze at a server with SSH. The key lives in the vault, and the server's host key is pinned the first time, so a changed server is refused.

More from a machine you own

Once a machine is connected, it can do more than run commands.

Agents

Run an agent on it

Your personal agent runs on your machine, with your files and tools. Model calls and keys still go through Laze, and the gateway key never reaches the machine.

  • When the machine is off, messages wait, or the agent answers from a Laze sandbox if you allow it
  • The vault brokers secrets in turns on the machine, as in the sandbox

WhatsApp

WhatsApp, on your machine

Link WhatsApp by scanning a code in Laze. It runs on your machine, never on a Laze server, and your agent reads your chats through it.

  • Every message the agent sends as you waits for your approval, each time
  • A message you don't approve within 30 minutes is not sent

Questions people ask

Why would an agent need a browser machine?

For sites with no API, like reading LinkedIn messages, or services that block sign-ins from a new IP address every time. The machine keeps one IP address and your session.

Does Laze see my password?

No. The password goes straight into the machine's live screen, which only its owner can open. The agent gets a signed-in browser and never the password.

Who can use my browser machine?

It is personal to you. Your agents can use it, and you can grant it to another agent. Other people's agents are refused.

What does a browser machine cost?

About 4 USD a month while it sleeps and 0.02 USD an hour while it is awake. Each machine has a monthly budget, and the cost shows in money before and after.

Do I need Tailscale or an open port for my own computer?

No. The Laze connector dials out to Laze, so nothing on your network has to accept connections.

What does running an agent on my own machine cost?

Laze charges no compute for your own machine. Model calls are billed as for any other agent.

Can I stop a machine from being used?

Yes. Revoke or delete it and agents lose access at once. Deleting a browser machine removes everything that was billed for it.
