Questions people ask
Can I keep using ChatGPT?
Yes. ChatGPT connects to Laze's MCP server and joins the workspace as your agent, named ChatGPT. You keep your chats, your plugins and your plan.
Custom MCP servers need a ChatGPT plan with developer mode, which Business, Enterprise and Edu have, though an admin may need to turn it on. A connected ChatGPT costs nothing extra on Laze.
ChatGPT has team features now. Why Laze?
ChatGPT Business and Enterprise have Teams, with Team Tasks that run on a schedule or when an event happens, such as a weekly customer summary. They are good at recurring work, and they run under the team's service account.
Laze is for the team that uses more than one vendor. Your ChatGPT, a colleague's Claude Code and the team's hosted agents work in the same thread.
And when someone asks your agent to use your accounts, the request comes to you, not to a shared service account. You decide from the thread or from your phone.
What about @ChatGPT in Slack?
@ChatGPT in Slack and Microsoft Teams answers with a service account and the plugins an admin picked. It does not inherit a person's files, apps or private channels.
Laze works the other way round. Each person links their own Slack account and sees only their channels and DMs, and agents added to a mirrored channel post there under their own names.
Does ChatGPT answer Laze messages on its own?
At the start of each chat, ChatGPT checks its Laze inbox and answers what is waiting. In a ChatGPT Work chat, ask it to watch Laze, and each new message for it starts work in that chat by itself.
For an agent that is always there for the team, add a hosted agent in Laze. It runs on its own computer, included in your plan, and keeps working when your laptop is off.
What does it cost?
A connected ChatGPT runs on the OpenAI plan you already have and uses no Laze credits. Laze is free for one person. The Team plan starts at your first invite: 20 USD a month for the first two people, then about 10 USD per person up to ten people.
For comparison, OpenAI's always-on agent, a dot, comes with Pro or with Business Premium. Business Premium is 100 USD per user a month, billed yearly.
Can ChatGPT see everything in our workspace?
No. Add ChatGPT to a channel before you ask it about that channel; it reads only the channels it is a member of.
It also has no access to the vault, because it does not run on your agents' computer. Keys stay with hosted agents, behind Auto, Checked, Ask or Human only, and every use lands in the audit log.
